Jana Falls, One of Manali’s Natural Splendor



Jana Falls is one of the top tourist destinations in the scenic place of Manali. The trip to this place can be slightly adventurous combined with the various lovely sights for sightseeing along the way
. The falls is located at a distance of about 60 km from the main town of Manali. It advisable to hire a bike in order to visit this falls as it will allow you to enjoy the breath-taking sceneries along the way.
Even though it is not so massive compared to other popular falls found in the state of Himachal Pradesh the falls is an alluring one. 

Jana Falls is placed close to the village called Jana from which the falls has acquired its name. The falls can also be reached from Naggar, from where it will take you around a one hour drive. So one can also visit this falls combined with the sightseeing tour of the Naggar region.  

The most attractive prospect about the Jana falls is that it is placed on top of a hill, which adds to the beauty of its location. The falls is surrounded by small villages with very little population. After reaching the location one has to hike for about 20 minutes that will get you before this mesmerizing splendor of nature.

The local villagers living at the area of this falls are quite hospitable and one can also choose to try some fresh fruits from the orchards, with the permission of the villagers. After reaching the falls after a short trek up the hill, one can enjoy the beautiful sight of this falls descending down from a considerable height.

 The sight of this scenic falls is surely going to bring some peace to your soul and mind. The tranquil surrounding of this place is perfect for the ones who are looking to spend some time away from the busy environment of the cities. All that you can hear at this place is the falling of the water of Jana falls and the melodious chirping of the birds that inhabit the surrounding forests of this area. You can also enjoy a refreshing bath at this falls or you can even leisurely swim in the small pool of this falls. 

After the enjoying the picturesque beauty of the place, if you feel hungry, there is a small stall located at the lower portion of the falls. It is an ideal place to satisfy your hunger as the stall serves homemade food involving red rice, chutni, rajma, makki ki roti, khichadi along with a local dish called ‘Siddhu’. After enjoying the food one can also enjoy a delicious cup of tea, served at this place. 

Accommodation
While on a tour at this falls, tourists can opt to stay at Naggar or Manali. Both these places are dotted with numerous numbers of hotels, resorts and lodges that range from budget, mid-budget to luxury.

Visiting Time: The falls can be visited from 6 am to 6 pm.

How to Reach
By Road: The falls is easily accessed through road from Manali bus stand, located at a distance of about 39 km.  The falls can also be reached by a short drive from Naggar. After reaching the location one has to trek for about 10 to 20 minutes.

By Air: The nearest airport to this falls is Bhuntar, located at a distance of about 50 km from Manali. The airport conducts direct flights from Delhi and Chandigarh.
By Rail: The nearest railway stations to this falls are Chandigarh and Ambala, which are 350 km and 360 km respectively from Manali.
